Culture is a very important aspect of university life. Our cultural activities at the 8xav福利导航 of Luxembourg allow students and staff to tap into their creative side, to discover new perspectives, and to be part of the vibrant artistic and cultural life of Luxembourg.
Whatever your interests are in visual arts, photography, music, exhibitions, performances or cultural experiences, our programme will encourage you to step outside your academic or professional activities, learn new skills and engage with a diverse and international community.
Our activities are run by experienced professionals and created in partnership with cultural players across Luxembourg. They help us make culture accessible, inspiring and fun for everybody.

Bicherschaf
A self-service bookshelf! Thanks to an initiative by Espace cultures and Office of Student Life, a book shelf is available to all. It is accessible to everyone, free of charge and without registration.
You can borrow one or more books, read them on site or at home and return them to the shelf after reading. Readers can also keep their chosen books and replace them with others.
In this way, the bookshelves are a way for people who have books they want to get rid of to 鈥榬ecycle鈥 them in a socially responsible way, giving them a second life and giving everyone the chance to get books for free.
Rules:
- You can choose a book, borrow it and return it or keep it.
- You can replace it with another book.
- If there’s room, you can even add books to the bookshelf.
- Only books in good condition.
- No magazines.
You can find Bicherschaf on two locations: Maison du Savoir, 1st floor (cafeteria) and 5th floor (SEVE)!

Come and play the piano whenever you want at the Maison des Arts et des 脡tudiants (MAE) – Belval Campus
Music room: The space to unleash your talent!
Are you looking for a rehearsal space? A music room equipped with a piano is available to 8xav福利导航 of Luxembourg students and staff at the 4th floor of the Maison des Arts et des 脡tudiants (MAE). The room has a stage that can be used for small shows such as concerts, theater or other performing arts (35 seats). No daylight, no food or drinks allowed in this area.
If you wish to book the room to rehearse, please send your request before rehearsals, including a short description of your project, at least two weeks in advance.

UniJAM: Open project for musicians
The uniJAM project consists of some core members as well as people joining temporarily. The musicians chose songs according to their style preferences and skills and bring them to life, with the help of the other uniJAM musicians. Any style is welcome: pop, rock, funk, jazz鈥 On a frequent basis, the result is presented live in an after-work concert on Belval Campus, inviting all of the 8xav福利导航 to join in for listening or even participating.
The actual jam takes place during lunch rehearsals.
Cercle Symphonique de Rumelange
Do you play an instrument at a high level? Are you interested in playing in an orchestra?
The Cercle Symphonique is always looking for new musicians! Join the group and venture into a music journey!
Their services include chamber music, string orchestra and a symphony orchestra.
BelvalExpress Theater
We wish to foster connections between students and give them a new experience through the promotion of creative exchanges.
We share our work in the form of a final performance for the 8xav福利导航 community.
Uni.lu Choir: 8xav福利导航 choir, open to all
The choir is composed of students, alumni, faculty members of the 8xav福利导航 of Luxembourg and members without a direct relation to the 8xav福利导航. What really holds them together is our passion for good music, performing with other choirs and orchestras from Luxembourg and abroad, meeting new people and having fun socializing.
The choir performs a wide range of musical genres. In general, they work on two different musical programs each year.
New World Theatre Club (NWTC)
The New World Theatre Club (NWTC) in Luxembourg has successfully staged some 150 plays in English for over 50 years. From comedy to dramas, Shakespeare to Tennessee Williams, NWTC welcomes amateur actors, directors, and production crew of all nationalities. New production ideas are encouraged, and volunteers are always needed, regardless of experience. NWTC provides its members with valuable links to other theatrical events, openings, and related workshops.

The Stage is Yours
This monthly open mic event on campus seeks to share and celebrate talents. Some common performances are singing, playing instruments, presenting poetry, dancing, and comedy. Open to staff and students, it’s an opportunity to spend a fun and relaxing night, while being inspired and share a moment with the university community. Everyone is welcome!

Frequently Asked Questions about our classes & workshops
Can I bring a guest?
The Espace Cultures programmes (Campus Art) are open to regular 8xav福利导航 of Luxembourg students and staff only. Occasionally, workshops and activities will be open to public as well.
The Hariko art classes offer is open to any Uni.lu student or staff up to 30 years of age.
Cepa.lu classes are open for every student and staff member (limited spaces; 50% off).
I have a disability. Can I join anyway?
The Espace Cultures programme is open to all students and staff members. Feel free to contact the Espace Cultures team if you wish to receive personalised support.
All offers from the Espace Cultures programme are free of charge!
In the case of Cepa ASBL courses, you just pay half price if you get a spot.
The only thing that is required of people who have signed up for courses is that they honour their commitment.
You can register for the activities you are interested in via Eventbrite. If an event is co-organized with another service, you will be notified and the registration modalities will be clarified specifically, if needed.
You will need to create an account for the first time on Eventbrite. An Eventbrite application is also available for mobile phones and tablets on App Store and Google Play.
- Access the workshop’s Eventbrite website or application,
- sign up on the website in case you do not have an account,
- select the first date for the workshop,
- click on “reserve a spot”,
- add the information required for registration – name, and your university email address (firstname.lastname.00X@student.uni.lu for students, NOT numbers@uni.lu, or firstname.lastname@uni.lu for staff).
- click on “register”
- repeat the process for the other dates of the workshop.
For Hariko鈥檚 classes, you can book an appointment/a workshop online via the Hariko鈥檚 facebook site.
For CEPA ASBL, check the website and inquire directly with them if there any spots left for uni.lu members.

Yes, this is recommended because missing sessions may not achieve the course objective.
Yes, you can. Simply deregister via Eventbrite; the link is in the confirmation e-mail you received.
You can register for one or several activities, according to availability.
Then your registration is not complete. Common problems are:
1. Check your SPAM inbox.
2. A mistake in your e-mail address when registering. For students, a common mistake is: your e-mail-address is 鈥渇irstname.lastname.index@student.uni.lu鈥, NOT 鈥渘umber@uni.lu鈥 (this is your username).
3. Other? Please contact espace.cultures@uni.lu.
The activities take place during the academic semesters.
There are no classes during 8xav福利导航 breaks or on public holidays.
If the sessions are fully booked, you should see a “waitlist” option on Eventbrite. If you register for the waiting list and a spot opens up due to cancellations, you will be notified so that you can register.
