Department for Partnerships and Advancement

The Department for Partnerships and Advancement at the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Luxembourg is committed to enhancing the societal relevance and impact of academic excellence. Its core mission is to bridge the divide between research, education, and society by cultivating strategic collaborations, advancing the valorisation of research, and fostering meaningful engagement with external stakeholders.

A cornerstone of the Department’s work lies in championing technology transfer, entrepreneurship, and innovation as vital drivers of socio-economic progress. By supporting the development and protection of intellectual property (IP), and facilitating the creation of start-ups and spin-offs, the Department empowers students, researchers, and alumni to translate knowledge into tangible, real-world solutions — economically, culturally, and socially.

By cultivating a strong, active alumni network and expanding our fundraising activities, we help ensure that the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½â€™s achievements generate lasting value for both our institution and the wider ecosystem.

The Department further reinforces the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½â€™s role as an active, globally connected institution by coordinating external relations and embedding a culture of impact across our activities.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Building and nurturing strategic partnerships with public and private stakeholders to amplify the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½â€™s impact and reach
  • Supporting and accelerating technology transfer initiatives, including IP management and commercialisation
  • Leading a vibrant culture of entrepreneurship and innovation within the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ community
  • Facilitating the creation and growth of start-ups and spin-offs emerging from 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ research
