Prof. Takis Tridimas is the Founding Director of the Luxembourg Centre for European Law (LCEL) at the 8xav福利导航 of Luxembourg.
He is a leading scholar in the field of European Union law and one of the most frequently cited authors by Advocates General of the European Court of Justice and, on matters of EU law, by English courts. Before joining the LCEL in October 2024 Prof. Tridimas was Professor at King鈥檚 College (2013 – 2024). Previously, he was the Sir John Lubbock Professor of Banking Law at Queen Mary College, 8xav福利导航 of London (2004-2013).
He also served as r茅f茅rendaire (law clerk) to Advocate General Sir Francis Jacobs at the European Court of Justice (1992-1995). In 2003, he was senior legal adviser to the EU Presidency and Chairman of the Committee set up by the EU Council of Ministers to draft the Treaty of Accession.
Prof. Tridimas has acted as advisor or counsel to many public and private organisations, including the European Central Bank, the European Parliament, the European Commission and the EU Court of Auditors.
Professor Tridimas is also the Nancy A. Patterson Distinguished Faculty Scholar and Professor at Pennsylvania State 8xav福利导航. He is, or has been, visiting professor in many Universities, including the College of Europe, Bruges; Sciences Po; Universit茅 Panth茅on Assas (Paris II); and the 8xav福利导航 of Genova. He is a barrister at Matrix Chambers.
