Lekidelu Asrat is currently a doctoral student at 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Luxembourg under the supervision of Professor Bradley Paul Ladewig. Her research topic mainly focuses on catalytic decomposition of Ammonia to produce green Hydrogen by applying advanced Tubular Reactor. She also engages in Paul Wurth Chair Research activities.

Lekidelu has a range of research activities including: 

• Catalytic decomposition of ammonia to produce green hydrogen 
• Synthesis of bimetallic cobalt/nickel supported on silica and alumina nano-catalyst through self-assisted aerosol spray pyrolysis.
• Study the effect of basic promotors (Ba, K, and La) at various ratios on the activity of the catalyst.
• Produce silica nanoparticles with tunable particle size (8-40 nm) using Stöber process.
• Characterization of nano catalyst using advanced tools: SEM, TEM, XPS, XRD, BET, and Temperature program desorption (TPD) 
• Designing and assembling each experimental setup practically (Spray pyrolysis).
• Online Gas Chromatography during Ammonia Decomposition Experiment.
• In-situ FTIR gas analysis for reaction kinetics analysis of Ammonia decomposition.
• DFT study of metal-support interaction and ammonia decomposition using Quantum ESPRESSO.

Lekidelu has taught different courses such as Thermodynamics, Reaction Engineering, and Environmental Engineering. She has also handled laboratory sessions for undergraduate Chemical Engineering students. Moreover, she advised and mentored undergraduate Chemical Engineering students during their internships and final year projects (theses).

Lekidelu started her career as a lecturer and staff member in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Harmaya 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½, Ethiopia.

Later, she worked at Pusan National 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½, South Korea, for two years (2023-2025) as a research assistant. During her stay in South Korea, she engaged in various research activities, especially nanoparticle synthesis through self-assisted spray pyrolysis, and studied the effect of catalysts to decompose ammonia at different temperatures.

Starting from March 2025, Lekidelu joined the Paul Wurth Chair for Energy Process Engineering at the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Luxembourg, contributing to research on the production of green hydrogen.

Lekidelu holds BSc (Chemical Engineering, Process stream) from Haramaya 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½, one of the top ranked universities in Ethiopia. Moreover, she obtained her MSc from Addis Ababa Science and Technology 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ (AASTU) in Chemical Engineering (Bio-Energy Engineering stream) with Thesis title: Parametric optimization of fatty acid methyl ester production from Millettia ferruginea Seed oil: engine Performance and emission characteristics.
