Chih-Chieh Chien is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Physics and Materials Science at the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Luxembourg. She is a member of the Experimental Soft Matter Physics group led by Professor Jan Lagerwall.

Her research primarily focuses on the field of liquid crystals. In the early stages, she concentrated on the synthesis of liquid crystal monomers and polymers, while later, her work shifted toward the practical applications of liquid crystal materials. In addition to developing liquid crystal materials for display applications in LCD panels, she has also been dedicated to advancing liquid crystal technologies such as PDLC and PSCT for smart window applications. She is now dedicated to applying liquid crystal polymer beads in biosensing research.

Chih-Chieh received the DAAD/NSTC Sandwich Scholarship Programme (2014-2015), awarded for research exchange at Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden, Germany.

Between 2015 and 2024, she worked in the Liquid Crystal Materials Department at JNC Corporation () as a Materials R&D Engineer in Taiwan. She joined the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Luxembourg in March 2025.

Chih-Chieh obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Chung Yuan Christian 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ in Taiwan. She obtained her Master’s and PhD in Chemical Engineering from National Cheng Kung 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ in Taiwan.
