Sophia 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ – Top Student Grant
A unique opportunity for outstanding Bachelor and Master students at the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Luxembourg !
Each year, 12 top-performing students with a strong interest in Japanese culture are selected to participate in an immersive 3-week academic and cultural experience at Sophia 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½â€™s Yotsuya Campus in Tokyo. The student must be available during the mobility period, starting end of June.
What the Grant Covers?
The grant fully supports your international mobility by covering:
– Round-trip flights to Tokyo
– Accommodation in Japan
– Registration and programme fees
– Airport pick-up service in Tokyo
Not covered: Meals & personal excursions (students should plan their own budget).
Application Process
- The International Relations Office (IRO) informs faculties about the upcoming selection.
- Study Programme Directors (SPDs) receive a call for nominations (one student per programme).
- Nominations include academic results, current semester, and a short motivation.
- Deadline: Last week of February
- SPDs submit nominations to the FHSE Quality Office (QO).
- The QO prepares files, organizes the internal selection committee, and finalizes candidates.
- Each faculty forwards 4 selected students + 1 backup to the IRO.
- IRO notifies selected students and explains next steps.
- FHSE QO informs respective SPDs/DETs about non-selected students
- Selected students submit their official application to Sophia 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½.
- Application deadline: March 6th 2026
- Students travel to Tokyo at the end of June.
- SPAs verify that travel dates do not conflict with final exams.
- Course directors are informed accordingly.
