The overall objective of this project is to develop and implement inclusive music workshops across youth centers and supportive organizations in Luxembourg. We aim at enhancing the confidence and capacity of youth practitioners to use music as a tool when working with young people in various settings. Central to this approach is the creation of the Music4Resilience community-based lab, a series of music-informed workshops that offer a space for exploring music and getting familiar with musical resources that will support youth workers to engage vulnerable populations through music, and promote well-being, social inclusion and employability among vulnerable youth. This project specifically aims to: 1. Conduct a series of four participatory music-infused workshops with youth workers, targeting those who work with disabled and/or disadvantaged children, children and adolescents with mental health issues, and hospitalized children. We promote inclusion and diversity by ensuring that the voices of participants guide the design and content of the workshops to be accessible and culturally sensitive music resources. 2. Offer relevant training and hands-on experience during each of the workshops on topics related to mental health, disability, music and emotions, embodied musical expression, and technology and music accessibility. 3. Enable systemic change in how a variety of music activities (from playlists, to concerts, to music making) is integrated as a tool for inclusion and empowerment in youth settings. By building capacity in these groups, the project will contribute to the recognition of youth work as a profession that plays a vital role in safeguarding young people’s well-being and future employability. It will also address the expressed need for accessible, practical training in mental health and emotional support, enabling practitioners to structure complete, holistic, and youth-centered services.
