Michelle joined the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Luxembourg in May 2024 as Professor of lnclusive Education with the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) / Department of Education and Social Work (DESW).
As of May 2025, she has been assigned Programme Director of the Master en Sciences de l’Education – Education inclusive et accessibilité pédagogique. Since October 2025, she acts as Programme Director of the Doctoral School in Education.
After almost 10 years as practitioner working with and for people with disabilities, she finished her PhD in Education on the Karma – Medical Model of Disability in 2015, in a collaborative project between Addis Ababa 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½, Srinakharinwirot 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ Bangkok and the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Vienna funded by the Austrian Science Fund. Before she joined the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Luxembourg, she worked at the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Vienna and Kingston 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ London.
Her research foci lie on international comparative explorations of inclusion, inclusive education and inclusive teacher training. She has co-lead and participated in a number of international projects, such as Erasmus+, ASEA and AFRICA Uninet, EPU, Austrian Science Fund. Her research network spans more than 30 countries. She contributes to third mission through collaboration with schools, youth organisations, NGOs, DPOs, actors and other representatives from education and related fields. Between 2018 and 2022, she coordinated a bridging course for internationally educated teachers.
