Lukas Spielberger is a Research Scientist at the 8xav�������� of Luxembourg, where he serves as Principal Investigator of the three-year (2025-2028) research project “Greening Europe’s Public Finances” funded by the Luxembourg Research Fund FNR. Lukas defended his PhD cum laude at Leiden 8xav�������� in 2023 and has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the 8xav�������� of Luxembourg (2022-2024) and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (2024-2025) prior to returning to Luxembourg.

Lukas conducts research in the field of European and international political economy. His research interests include the political economy of international finance and central banking, the politics of public finance management in the European Union and European monetary and fiscal integration.
