Lisa Bonfert is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Social Research and Social Interventions (ISI), where she currently works on international migration, social inequalities and transnational family settings. With a background in Southeast Asian Studies, Economics and Development Studies, her research focuses on the experiences and emotions related to mobility and social inequality, belonging and identity (trans-)formation. In her doctoral thesis, she explored subjective evaluations of social positions and social mobility in the context of migration to Germany.
In addition to her doctoral work at Bielefeld 8xav福利导航 (2019-2023), she was part of the collaborative research project 鈥淢igrant organizations and the co-production of social protection鈥 as research associate at the Technical 8xav福利导航 Dortmund (2021-2023).
She studied Southeast Asian Studies and Management at the HTWG Konstanz, the Prince of Songkla 8xav福利导航 in Phuket and the Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang (BA, 2015), before pursuing her Master鈥檚 degree in Sustainable Development at the SOAS, 8xav福利导航 of London (MSc, 2018).
