Anna Kornadt joined the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Luxembourg in 2019 as a full professor in psychology with a focus on aging and lifespan development. She received her Diploma in psychology from the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Mannheim in 2008 and her Ph.D. in psychology (summa cum laude) from Friedrich-Schiller-8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ Jena in 2012. From 2013 to 2019 she was a postdoctoral researcher at Bielefeld 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½.

Since 2022, she is Head of the Department of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences and was head of the Institute for Lifespan Development, Family and Culture (LDFC) from 2020 to 2025. Anna is also Study Director of the Master en Gérontologie, and a member in the Faculty Council of the FHSE. Beyond the university, she is an expert in several policy commissions related to older people in Luxembourg.

Anna’s research focuses on understanding how individuals develop across the lifespan, focusing on mid- and later life. She explores subjective views on aging, age-related self-regulation, personality and identify in later life and the social and health-related factors shaping life trajectories. She is especially interested in how perceptions of aging influence development, as well as broader issues such as ageism, social inequality, and quality of life in later years. To address these research questions, different methods such as (longitudinal) surveys and ecological momentary assessments are employed.

She has led and contributed to large-scale, longitudinal research projects and her research is funded, among others, by grants from the and the IAS. Furthermore, she serves as an associate editor for the , and as editorial board member for several international journals, such as and the .
