Sophia Schick is a Doctoral Researcher in Intellectual Property Law at the 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ of Luxembourg under the supervision of Prof. Martin Stierle. She is part of the Doctoral Training Unit Green and Digital Transition in the Single Market.

Her research focuses on Standard Essential Patents and the Digital Transition in the European Union. She explores the legal and economic implications of IP law in emerging digital markets and contributes to ongoing debates on innovation policy and market regulation.

In 2023, Sophia Schick led tutorials at Humboldt 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ Berlin in Civil, Criminal, and Public Law.

She has participated in academic summer schools and conferences, engaging with international researchers and contributing to discussions on intellectual property law and the digital transition in the EU.

Sophia Schick has been recognized for her academic achievements through scholarships supporting her studies, namely from the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, and the DAAD.

Between 2020 and 2024, she worked as a Research Assistant for Prof. Christian Waldhoff at Humboldt 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ Berlin, focusing on public and financial law. During her LL.M. at King’s College London, she assisted Dr. Eden Sarid in conducting quantitative research in the field of IP law.

Sophia Schick obtained her First State Exam at Humboldt 8xav¸£Àûµ¼º½ Berlin, a Master 1 at Université Panthéon-Assas, and an LL.M. at King’s College London.
