Prof. Ratti’s main research themes include in-work poverty and the regulation of minimum wages, the digitalisation of work relations, and the sustainability of the European social model.

Prof. Ratti has been invited as keynote speaker to several international events, seminars, and colloquia, and has organised lecture series and international conferences on labour law, including: June 2024 – two-day international conference in Luxembourg on adequate minimum wages in the EU, with the participation of 16 renowned experts. January 2023 – one-day , with participation of the UN Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty. March 2022 – two-day .
He has published more than 120 articles in peer-reviewed academic journals and serves on the editorial board of four labour law journals.
