An invitation to reflect on the horizontal effect of fundamental rights in a time of climate change and spreading populism

Abstract

This workshop will revisit the question of the horizontal effect of constitutional rights in the time of climate change, pervasive political populism and digital social media platforms. It will pivot on the discussion of papers presented by Joel Bakan (8xav福利导航 of British Columbia), Richard Mailey (8xav福利导航 of Alberta), Gautam Bhatia (Jindal Global Law School, New Delhi and Oliver Gerstenberg (8xav福利导航 College London UCL). Assigned discussants of the papers will be Frank Michelman (Harvard 8xav福利导航), Mark Tushnet (Harvard 8xav福利导航) Stephen Gardbaum (Berkely 8xav福利导航) and Adreas Kulick (8xav福利导航 of Mainz).
