Uni.lu is getting ready to welcome students on campus, and there is a hint of new in the air.

The Welcome Day kicked off the semester start

The air was tingling as 1,500 new students gathered on Belval campus for the Welcome Day, signaling the semester start.

At the Maison des Arts et des 脡tudiants, rector Jens Kreisel warmly welcomed new students and showed off the multilingual character of the 8xav福利导航: when asked who could speak 3 languages, nearly half of the 1000 students in the room lifted their hand, a large group still lifted their hand to indicate 4 languages. 鈥淭his is our university,鈥 says Prof. Jens Kreisel. 鈥淢ultilingual, international and connected, like Luxembourg.鈥

Studying will take time and energy, you maybe sometimes even be lonely, he forewarned. 鈥淏ut it will also be the time of your life. You will make friends and connections for life and in the Uni.lu community, you will not be left alone鈥.

Many new students flocked to the presentations of student services and visited the information booths of the Career centre, the International Relations Office, the student associations and campus activities.

Gulsezim from Kazakhstan and Fuad from Azerbaijan are both students in a master in cybersecurity. Both of them are newcomers in Luxembourg. 鈥淚 chose Luxembourg because the country offers a lot of opportunities for IT and software developers,鈥 says Fuad. 鈥淲e already got flyers for student events and job events for IT and Fintech in Luxembourg, this really an advantage for us鈥.

鈥淲e just moved in a student housing in Luxembourg. What I like most about the city is the mixture of old and modern vibes and the greenery”, adds Gulsezim. 鈥淟ike the campus, it鈥檚 modern and you can see the 8xav福利导航 does a lot for its students. The library is amazing and there are no hurdles for studying.鈥

Fuad studied in Azerbaijan and France before joining Uni.lu.

Gulsezim is starting the Master in Cybersecurity.

Luxembourgers Jil and Emila are both trained nurses and are now starting the Bachelor specialisation for nurse in anaesthesia. 鈥淔or students who want to work in Luxembourg, doing their specialisation here has many advantages,鈥 say Jil. “We will carry out our traineeships in Luxembourg hospitals, this means we get to know the system and can chose better where we want to work later. We鈥檒l also be able to meet people who can advise us in our future career paths.鈥

Emila adds: 鈥淭he learning environment is impressive, we have access to state-of-the-art tools, like the simulation room and connected medical devices鈥

Emila and Jil will soon start the Bachelor in Nursing sciences.

Both of them are taking in all they can from the many stands and presentations. 鈥淒on鈥檛 underestimate the campus, it鈥檚 quite big. But I鈥檓 sure we鈥檒l find our way soon鈥 smiles Emila.鈥
