驰别蝉迟别谤诲补测,听 and the 8xav福利导航 of Luxembourg’s聽Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) announced their collaboration in a research聽partnership聽that will investigate cryptographic algorithms resistant to quantum computers.聽The announcement was made yesterday in a .

In a partnership that aims to foresee the challenges of tomorrow,聽SnT’s – led by – will work with聽LuxTrust聽on upgrading their data security systems to be resistant against quantum computers.聽Having existed for many years 鈥 in聽fact,聽they were first conceived in the early 1980s 鈥 quantum computers may be able to be produced on a large聽scale within the next decade.聽This poses a huge problem to security systems that聽have not聽yet聽been聽specially designed to withstand their ability to handle large instances of mathematical problems.

Current encryption聽styles聽are聽not designed to be unbreakable.聽But they are聽designed to聽take long enough to聽crack聽that it proves unattractive to a hacker. The sheer strength of computing power on a quantum computer can聽break some encryptions聽in a comparatively small amount of time to a classical computer. It鈥檚 this dilemma that industries around the world face, in a race against the mass production of聽quantum聽computers.聽

SnT聽will collaborate with聽LuxTrust聽to develop an algorithm for securing its information that even quantum computers will not be able to break.聽In a movement聽that鈥檚聽known as 鈥楶ost-Quantum Cryptography,鈥櫬爐he development of this聽modern technology聽will ensure a seamless continuation of聽LuxTrust鈥檚聽current聽systems聽into the post-quantum era.聽鈥淲e are confident that thanks to the expertise of聽SnT聽researchers, we will deliver practical solutions, or answers to real industry challenges that will further benefit clients using our digital services,鈥澛爏aid ,聽the newly appointed CEO聽at聽LuxTrust.聽

Speaking about the partnership, 聽鈥 Head of the Technology Transfer Office 鈥 said, 鈥淒eveloping resistant cryptography is a challenge that a lot of industries now face as a priority. We are very enthusiastic to help聽LuxTrust聽in this endeavour, and enable them to maintain their impeccable standards of customer security into the next era of computing.鈥澛
