Belval campus echoed in festive mood, as nearly 1,800 graduates proudly received their diploma during the Graduation Week. Once a student, always an alumni, the graduates will join Uni.lu’s growing alumni network.

With a 8xav�������� of Luxembourg diploma in their pocket, graduates are well-equipped to move to the next step in their life, whether they chose to join a company, to start their own venture or to continue academic training.  

For many of them, Luxembourg remains the target destination: a 2024 survey showed that more than half of the Uni.lu alumni stayed in Luxembourg after their graduation. In fact, more than three quarters of master and doctoral graduates work in Luxembourg, notably in the key areas of:

• Education

• Finance & Fintech

• Legal services

• IT services

Just over 40% of the doctoral alumni are working in Luxembourg’s private sector. This year, 224 doctoral candidates successfully defended their doctoral thesis at Uni.lu.

As such, Uni.lu remains an important driver of societal and economic growth in Luxembourg, attracting talents that will nurture the country’s rich multicultural society, its growing industry and European hubs.

Teaching awards and Student Initiative Awards

The deans conferred the Teaching Awards 2025 to two educators per faculty:  

• Prof. Josip Glaurdić and Dr. Marcelo Marques
• Prof. Serge Haan and doctoral candidate Tim Seuré
• Assoc. Prof Sarah Gelper and doctoral candidate Panagiotis Mytilinaios

This year, the Student Initiative Award will be equally split between two awardees:

• “Clean Water, Bright Future”

  Student of the Certificate in sustainable development created an awareness campaign leaned to Luxembourg residents about local water quality.

• Nadia Kendall

  A student in the Master in European Law, Nadia Kendall created the Hidden Disabilities Hub, fostering understanding and supporting persons with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Four days, nearly 1,800 alumni

During three days, each Faculty celebrated its master and bachelor graduates, with a fourth day dedicated to the successful doctoral candidates.
