Condensed Matter Physics at the 8xav福利导航 of Luxembourg. He is also Head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dphyms.uni.lu\/\">Department of Physics and Materials Science<\/a> and Head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/research-groups\/theoretical-chemical-physics\/\">Theoretical Chemical Physics<\/a> group.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n\n<li class=\"list-highlighted__item  wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item\">\n    <header class=\"list-highlighted__header wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-header\">\n    \n<h4 class=\"title text-18 font-bold has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"research\"\n    >\nResearch<\/h4>\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-bigtext\">\n    <span>\n        \n    <\/span>\n<\/div><\/header><div class=\"list-highlighted__body wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-body\">\n    <div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-free-content-area\">\n    \n<p>His research pushes the boundaries of quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, and machine learning to develop efficient methods to enable accurate modeling and new insights into complex materials. Tkatchenko has given more than 230 invited talks, seminars and colloquia worldwide, published more than 150 articles in peer-reviewed academic journals (h-index=58), and serves on the editorial boards of Physical Review Letters (APS) and Science Advances (AAAS).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n\n<li class=\"list-highlighted__item  wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item\">\n    <header class=\"list-highlighted__header wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-header\">\n    \n<h4 class=\"title text-18 font-bold has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"awards-distinctions\"\n    >\nAwards\/Distinctions<\/h4>\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-bigtext\">\n    <span>\n        \n    <\/span>\n<\/div><\/header><div class=\"list-highlighted__body wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-body\">\n    <div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-free-content-area\">\n    \n<p>He has received a number of awards, including elected Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2019, the 2020 Dirac Medal from the World Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists and the 2011 Gerhard Ertl Young Investigator Award of the German Physical Society.
