On the occasion of the World Engineers Day, Marie-Louise Uwizeye, alumna from the Master in Sustainable Development and the Doctoral programme in Engineering, shares her experience as a Research Officer at the Water Management Administration.

From a young age, Marie-Louise was fascinated by the environment, especially water. Streams, rain, and rivers sparked her curiosity, and she always wondered how human activity could coexist sustainably with nature. This passion naturally led her to study Engineering at Uni.lu, where she discovered she could turn her ideas into practical, innovative, and lasting solutions for environmental challenges.

Today, Marie-Louise works on projects aimed at preventing pollution and flooding, providing clients with tailored solutions for wastewater and stormwater management. Her journey shows that engineering is a field where everyone, regardless of gender, can contribute to building a more sustainable future.
