Under the leadership of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/people\/damien-francois-sagrillo\/\">Prof. Damien Sagrillo<\/a>, the institute made a significant contribution to the valorisation of Luxembourg\u2019s musical heritage, conducting research on Luxembourgish music and musicians. Among its output, especially the critical edition of the works of the Luxembourgish composer Laurent Menager and the \u201cLuxemburger Musikerlexikon\u201d stand out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fhse-en\/people\/luc-nijs\/\">Prof. Luc Nijs<\/a> joined the institute, connecting to the institute\u2019s work on music pedagogy and broadening the scope with research on instrumental music teaching in early childhood (KiMuPe), digitization in music education (e.g., project \u201cVimus\u201d), and music performance (IAS Audacity project <a href=\"http:\/\/www.project-samuse.lu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SAMuSe<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since May 2026, Prof. Nijs became the head of the institute. Under his leadership, the Institute will focus on music education and performance research.
