The lecture will end up by asking, what are the real causes and explanations for the current state of affairs and what are the prospects, if any, for a Union which would be able to deal with the US, China and other major powers \u201cauf Augenh\u00f6he\u201d, on equal terms.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-spacer is-spacer-size-sm\"><\/div>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"about-the-speaker\"\n    >\nAbout the speaker<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Allan Rosas<\/strong><\/em><strong>, Dr.Jur., Dr.Jur. h.c., Dr.Sc.Pol. h.c.<\/strong><br><strong>Professor Emeritus | Legal Scholar | Former EU Judge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Allan Rosas is a distinguished legal scholar and former Judge at the European Court of Justice (2002\u20132019). He currently serves as a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe, the Global School of Law (Cat\u00f3lica 8xav福利导航, Lisbon), and the 8xav福利导航 of Bologna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is President of the Article 255 TFEU Panel, an external member of the Ethics Committee of the European Court of Auditors, and former President of the Independent Ethical Committee of the European Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, he was Associate Professor of Public Law at the 8xav福利导航 of Turku (1978\u20131981), Armfelt Professor of Law at \u00c5bo Akademi 8xav福利导航 (1981\u20131995), and served as Director and later Deputy Director-General of the Legal Service of the European Commission (1995\u20132002).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He holds a Doctor of Laws degree and honorary doctorates in law and political science.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-spacer is-spacer-size-sm\"><\/div>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"language\"\n    >\nLanguage<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a free event.
