Families often accumulate thousands of photos, and each subsequent generation becomes increasingly puzzled about who or what is in them. Contexts \u2014 names, places, and stories \u2014 fades over time, leaving behind images that can no longer contribute to a sense of family community and heritage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTechnology is now very good at storing data, but much less good at preserving what gives it meaning\u201d, says Bertrand Jager, co-founder of the start-up Archive My Legacy<\/a>. \u201cWithout a narrative, the image is mute. This challenge is becoming increasingly apparent: 57% of people cannot name any of their great-grandparents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Archive My Legacy aims to help families transform scattered memories into structured narratives. Users upload photos and add information, inviting relatives to contribute too. The system then combines these inputs with AI analysis to build an organised understanding of people, places, and events. \u201cInstead of keeping information as separate notes, it connects them, allowing the platform to move beyond captions and build something with continuity.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result is an evolving digital photobook that reads more like a family story than an album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInstead of simply flipping through pictures, you are actually reading lives.\u201d This approach draws directly on narratology. \u201cThe story is not just well-written text. It is a structured way of connecting events over time.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Beyond preservation, co-founder Cosimo Palma emphasises its impact on identity and well-being. \u201cChildren who know their family stories tend to be more resilient and confident. You don\u2019t feel like you exist in isolation.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Archive My Legacy is a part of the 8xav福利导航 of Luxembourg’s mentorship programme<\/a>. In May 2026, the start-up was selected as one of the eight finalists of the AI Cafe Competition<\/a>. Since then, Bertrand Jager (a mentor) and Cosimo Palma (a PhD researcher in computational narratology) have been supported by the 8xav福利导航 of Luxembourg Incubator ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, their ambition extends beyond family memory. \u201cOur expertise lies in turning fragmented human experiences into something that can still be understood in the future,\u201c they explain, outlining their broader goal of making personal histories accessible and meaningful. \u201cEvery family, every person becomes the author of their own record. Memories do not disappear because they lack value, but because they are not captured, structured and transmitted in a lasting way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
