{"id":13649,"date":"2026-07-22T09:47:45","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T07:47:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/c2dh-en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=13649"},"modified":"2026-07-22T09:47:46","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T07:47:46","slug":"a-luxembourg-collection-was-launched-on-the-german-oral-history-digital-platform","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/c2dh-en\/news\/a-luxembourg-collection-was-launched-on-the-german-oral-history-digital-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"A Luxembourg collection was launched on the German Oral-History.Digital Platform"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\">\n<p>On 11 June 2026, the Luxembourg interview collection \u201c24.02.2022: Testimonies from the War\u201d was launched on the German <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.oral-history.digital\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oral-History.Digital<\/a> platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In early March 2022, loosely affiliated researchers from Ukraine, Poland, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom discussed the possibility of ethically well-grounded and methodologically sound emergency collection and archiving of oral testimonies of Ukrainian citizens on the move and their caregivers. These discussions resulted in documenting the wartime experiences of Ukrainians in Ukraine, Poland and Luxembourg. This ad hoc initiative, titled \u201c24.02.2022, 5am: Testimonies from the War\u201d, was followed by the trinational research project \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/c2dh-en\/research-projects\/u-core\/\">Researching the Collecting, Preserving, Analysing and Disclosing of Ukrainian Testimonies of the War<\/a>\u201d, a collaboration between the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C\u00b2DH) of the 8xav福利导航 of Luxembourg (UL), the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Polish Academy of Sciences \u2013 IFiS (PAN), and the Center for Urban History in Lviv (CUH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The U-CORE project examines the heuristic gesture of collecting, preserving, analysing and disclosing testimonies of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Within U-CORE, interviewees from the earlier \u201c24.02.2022, 5am: Testimonies from the War\u201d documentation project were revisited for a second interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The interview archive of the Luxembourg partner includes two rounds of interviews conducted in Luxembourg with 51 persons in 2022\u20132023, and follow-up interviews with 27 of them in 2024. That entire interview collection was named \u201c24.02.2022: Testimonies from the War\u201d. It is currently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/c2dh-en\/research-projects\/u-core\/interview-archive\/\">available onsite<\/a> at the Media Center of the 8xav福利导航 of Luxembourg. Access is defined for five different user profiles. On the German Oral-History.Digital platform, the collection is made <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.oral-history.digital\/u-core\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">available online<\/a> in its most restricted form of access to registered users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/c2dh-en\/people\/machteld-venken\/\">Machteld Venken<\/a> presented the collection at the oh.d26 Workshop on 11 June 2026.
